A simple sweet treat made with pantry ingredients.
you’re making mealtime meaningful.
If you want a sweet treat but have a shoestring budget, then try out these Poor Man’s Treats. Crackers, peanut butter, and marshmallows are layered with one another and then broiled to get beautifully toasted and warm.

Also known as Peanut Butter Marshmallows, these bite-sized snacks have all of the elements of a treat but without having to break out the mixing bowl.
What is in Poor Man’s Treats?
Crackers — You can use either Saltines or Ritz crackers.
Peanut butter — While you can use crunchy or smooth, smooth was used this time around.
Marshmallows — These were average- or standard-sized marshmallows. The jumbo ones will be too big.

After prepping the baking sheet, go ahead and spread the peanut butter onto each cracker. Gently press the marshmallows on top of the peanut butter.

These treats bake up super quickly, so don’t walk away from the oven. In the broiler, these can go from golden to burnt in an instant.

Served straight from the oven, these Poor Man’s Treats have the best texture!
The marshmallows get a crust on the outside, which harbors the slightly softened interior. Sweetness from the marshmallow is contrasted by the perfect saltiness of the peanut butter.

The base is just enough to hold the peanut butter and marshmallows but also thin enough to make these treats not so heavy.

Poor Man’s Treats fit the bill and satisfy the sweet-salty craving in the form of a crunchy, gooey treat.
